How to ruin an uptime

I had this old Belkin wireless router at home, and I knew it was on the way out for some time now. The symptoms were it would occasionally just stop allowing any new connections. A couple weeks ago I purchased a nice little Netgear wireless router to replace it with, but as luck would have […]

Putting your money where your mouth is, or How to piss off everyone

Yesterday, a buddy and fellow podcaster, Dave Yates emailed a bunch of people, myself included, about an idea he had. His idea was to have a “planet” for the podcasters. A “planet” for those uninitiated is an aggregated weblog/feed where many people’s separate content is merged together in one place for convenience sake (mostly). Everyone […]

Practical Jokes

All I have to say is that at my house for as long as I can remember, my family have been big practical jokers, and if you are anywhere around us, you were fair game. This has followed me into adulthood where I have taken the greatest pleasure in playing jokes on my wife and […]

Want to feel cheap?

This will be of interest to any of my fellow computer professionals out there: Recently I have been bombarded every time I turn on the TV with commercials from ComputerTraining.Com. This is an institution which boasts that in just 6 months it can turn your life around with an exciting new and high paying career […]

Philly Drivers

I almost forgot about this. Just the other day I walked out of my building to see this. This is typical of people always in a hurry to go nowhere. There seem to be a lot of them in Philly for some reason. Anyhow, from what I could gather this is a 5 car pile […]

What were they thinking?

It seems that the entire world has gone completely crazy. Yes, I am referring to not being able to get xmms on Ubuntu anymore. And I thought things were messed up when Slackware did it as well. What were they thinking? Yes, I realize that xmms was old, but you don’t see me throwing out […]

There are a couple online applications I use often and I thought I would share how to make them just a little more productive. I use Google Calendars and I also use Ta-Da Lists. These just help me keep things organized and with a lot of things happening during the day, being organized sure can […]

Bad News:

Well, it appears if Pat has finally gone off the deep end. He has hijacked the TLLTS site and things are not looking good. Not sure what to say now without having talked to the other guys yet. Stay tuned and as soon as I have something, I’ll forward it along. Anyone have any hosting […]

IBM Lotus Symphony

Just a real quick blurb on this as I am on a break at work…: I did do an install of the IBM Lotus Symphony office suite the day it was released and after using it a couple times I came across the following command which improves it’s performance dramatically: linc$ sudo /opt/ibm/lotus/Symphony/_uninst/uninstaller.bin

TLLTS Vacation

Wow! I was just sitting here thinking that it was almost time for the show, but guess what, we’re on vacation! I almost don’t know what to do with myself. I think I’ll go pinch my wife’s butt and see what happens 🙂 Don’t worry folks, we’re not going to be gone forever, just for […]
