More on the change
After actually using PCLinuxOS for a bit (still running it off of cd) I have decided that I will give it a shot in a real install. I have been able to do everything I wanted with it on cd except get x2vnc running. I use that to control my mac mini on the same desk, sort of like synergy. I just can’t find an rpm package for it nor can I get it to compile while running on the live cd 😉
I am sure after a while today I will have a running install, however right now I am backing up all my important data and my home directory. It amazes me that my current home directory has 5GB of junk in it. I am beginning to believe it’s a good idea for a clean reinstall now and again just to clean out the cruft. I wonder how big of a home directory people like Dann have. I know he has his home directory on a separate partition and just keeps it from install to install.
