E-Cig Review: SafeCig
SafeCig is a really popular brand of electronic cigarette and they were also kind enough to send me out some review samples. They sent along one of their very nice Original Starter Kit Deluxe kits (I know, sounds a bit redundant, but that is what it is) 🙂
This kit, retailing for $110.36, includes quite an impressive assortment of goodies for a new e-smoker. It has 3 batteries, 2 USB chargers, a mains adapter, a safe case and 2 of their refill packs.
The e-cig(s) in this kit look and feel, for the most part, like traditional cigarettes. They are white with a tan “filter” portion, a little world looking logo and a glowing orange led “ember” when you smoke them. All the batteries are automatic and work when you puff on them and they are designed to last a bit more than 200 puffs a piece. They charge completely in about an hour and a half. This really is a no muss no fuss setup and everything appears to work well.
The real draw of this particular brand (pun intended) is probably the cartridges (or cartomizers). Many places offer a wide variety of flavors, but these are pretty unique, at least in my opinion. Instead of exotic flavors like grape and peppermint these are more in line with different tobacco blends like “Brazilian” and “Madrid”. Taste being a very subjective thing, I thought their menthol was pretty decent, some of their tobacco flavors were really good and some were a bit too earthy for me (read, tasted like dirt) 🙂 You really should try them all though if you pick up this system, and, conveniently enough, they offer 2 types of refill packs at $12.25 a piece that will give you a sample of every flavor they have. These are called the Gold and Silver Variety Packs. This brings up a really unique packaging note as well. These refill packs *look* like mini cigarette box packs. They each hold 7 cartomizers, which, depending upon how and how much you smoke should be the equivalent of between 7 and 10 or so packs of traditional cigarettes. That is a pretty substantial savings over regular smokes.
The last thing I wanted to mention is the inclusion of a “safe” carrying case. Now the review sample I received did not contain one of these for me to check out, however, as you can imagine, I have seen a few cases similar to what is presented on the website, and this is a good thing to have. They come in a variety of colors and will keep your important investment safe and convenient.
While $110 for an e-cig kit may sound a little steep for some, you do get a lot of extras here. 2 chargers, 3 batteries and 14 cartomizers is pretty substantial. All that being said, they do offer a few more economical selections as well, like their Original Starter Kit (no pro or deluxe) which has 1 battery, 1 USB charger, 1 mains adapter and 1 refill pack for only $45 (still 7-10 packs of smokes). A very decent deal. The final icing here is their warranty. You get a lifetime warranty on the hardware and 30 day money back guarantee. Go check them out today, and let them know Linc sent you!
